Kath Bloom - It's Just a Dream LP
Kath Bloom is a storied voice in the American folk songwriting tradition. Living most of her life in and around New Haven, Connecticut, the underground legend’s recording and performing career lead her to multiple collaborative albums with guitarist and composer Loren Connors, and fandom from the likes of Bill Callahan and Devendra Banhart, both of whom contributed songs to the 2009 Kath Bloom tribute album Loving Takes This Course.
It's Just a Dream, previously self-released exclusively on CD-r, is a tribute to a life and time in the early 1990s, which found Bloom living in rural Florida training horses and making music with Peter Friedman and Stan Bronski, who play guitar and bass on the album respectively. Her musings on life, romance, childhood, and the injustices of society strike chords of solemnity and empathy, solitude and community all at once. A lone wolf in her uniqueness, Kath Bloom's spirit shines with the beauty of how emotional and meaningful it is to be in the world, and hear it.
This debut vinyl release of the album comes a jacket / centerfold featuring Kath Bloom original watercolors and photographs from the making of the album. Also included is a 12” x 24” lyrics poster designed by Lou Egerton-Wiley.
Mastered for vinyl by Kern Haug.
